The 2021 CFL season is arriving complete circle with Sunday’s Grey Cup rematch between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The familiar foes squared off in the season opener, and the Blue Bombers defence fast let their fact be understood in a chief 19-6 win on house turf.

Quick along four months, and these gangs are the best two left standing after the three-down contest bore to play tracking the cancellation of the 2020 drive due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Winnipeg defence this season has rightly earned the label of being historically great. Their 13.4 points permitted per round was the rarest by a CFL team in 51 years!

And shutting out games has evolved a matter of dignity for the Blue and Gold.

Including last week’s Western Final, the Bombers have published a fourth quarter shutout in 11 of 15 matches this season.

The power of the defence also occurs to own a special prize.

Jackson Jeffcoat and Willie Jefferson are the foremost team of defensive rears in Bombers record to be called Division All-Stars in the exact season.

That fiery duo united for 16 sacks and seven forced fumbles and are sure to wreak havoc on the Ticats foul line this Sunday.

    For The W’s

Since Zach Collaros seized the bridles as Winnipeg’s starting QB delinquent in 2019, the 2021 Most Excellent Player candidate has been shining.

For the 10th time since 2015, the NFL’s oldest rivalry will be contested on national television when the Green Bay Packers host the archrival Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field. The Packers (9-3) are not only looking to lock up their third straight NFC North championship (and the fourth since 2016), they’re also still in contention for the NFC’s top playoff seed. As for the Bears (4-8), they’re just looking to stop the bleeding. Not only have they lost six of the last seven games for this season, but they’ve also lost five of their last six against the Packers. The NFL’s “Black and Blue” division showcases its top rivalry in prime time once again.

Sunday Night Football: Chicago (4-8) at Green Bay (9-3)
Kickoff: Sunday, Dec. 12 at 8:20 p.m. ET
    TV: NBC
    Spread: Packers -12.5

    Three Things to Watch

    1. Packers still have a chance at the NFC’s top playoff seed
Green Bay only trails the Arizona Cardinals by one game in the conference standings and has a mostly favorable schedule ahead of it. After Sunday, the Packers will play arguably their most difficult remaining game when they travel to Baltimore (Week 15). From there they host Cleveland on Christmas Day (Week 16), then wrap up with division games at home against Minnesota (Week 17) and at Detroit (Week 18). It’s not too far-fetched that the Packers could finish the season with a 5-0 record.

As for the Cardinals, they have an interesting set of games to conclude the season as well. It starts this Monday night when they play the L.A. Rams in a key NFC West matchup. From there, they travel to Detroit (Week 15) where the Lions look to pull off another upset, then they return home on Christmas Day (Week 16) to host a scrappy Indianapolis Colts team that’s contending for a playoff spot of its own. They’ll wrap up the season with what should be a tough road trip to Dallas (Week 17), then head to Seattle (Week 18) to play a Seahawks team that’s gone 9-5 in its last 14 home games. Both teams could be scoreboard watching during the weeks ahead, and it may take until the final week to decide who the No. 1 seed will be.

    1. Can the Bears do anything to stop Aaron Rodgers?
Rodgers famously yelled “I own you” to Bears fans at Soldier Field when these teams played in October, and he wasn’t lying. He’s 21-5 against Chicago with 57 touchdowns vs. 10 interceptions in those games. In fact, during the last five games, Rodgers has 12 touchdowns and no interceptions with a 107.5 passer rating. The Kansas City Chiefs will go for the season sweep of the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday in a key AFC West battle. Kansas City (8-4) is two games up on Vegas in the division and back in the mix for the top spot in the conference. The Raiders (6-6) are 10th in the AFC standings as part of a large group of teams sitting at .500.

These two met in Week 10 when Patrick Mahomes threw for 406 yards and five touchdowns in a 41-14 beatdown in Allegiant Stadium on “Sunday Night Football.” The Chiefs racked up a season-high 516 yards of offense while the Raiders finished with 299 (only 50 rushing). Derek Carr tossed two touchdowns and one interception in a losing effort.

Overall, Las Vegas has lost four of its last five after a solid 5-2 start. Last week was another tough setback, falling 17-15 to Washington at home thanks to a 48-yard field goal from Brian Johnson with 37 seconds left. It was an awful offensive effort for the home team, with just one touchdown scattered around three field goals. The Raiders were just 2-for-8 on third down as well. Carr was 28-of-37 for 249 yards (the same total he posted in the first game vs. Kansas City) as Vegas dropped its third straight at home.

Kansas City, meanwhile, stayed hot with a fifth straight win, beating Denver 22-9 at home last Sunday night. Mahomes only threw for 184 yards, his second-lowest output of the season, while the defense did the heavy lifting. The Chiefs harassed Teddy Bridgewater into two interceptions and held the Broncos to just a touchdown and a field goal despite giving up more than 400 yards of offense. Kansas City can tie New England for the best record in the AFC, which would be quite the turnaround after stumbling to a 3-4 start.

Las Vegas (6-6) at Kansas City (8-4)
Kickoff: Sunday, Dec. 12 at 1 p.m. ET
      TV: CBS
      Spread: Chiefs -9.5

      Three Things to Watch

      1. Intangibles
Kansas City has all of the momentum entering this matchup, and Las Vegas is the visiting team, but that could be a good thing. The Raiders have lost three in a row at home, so the change of scenery could be what they need to get things turned around. They will play three of their next four on the road and have a date in Cleveland next Saturday. Health-wise, the biggest concern is tight end Darren Waller, who missed last week’s game because of knee/back injuries and has yet to return to practice. His importance to the offense can’t be overstated and puts more pressure on a running game that ranks 29th in the NFL (88.0 ypg).

      Final Analysis
I’m definitely not getting in front of Kansas City right now. I don’t believe the Chiefs’ defense has turned the corner, but I think their offense should find plenty of success on Sunday. The Raiders’ secondary is not very good and could get lit up by Mahomes and Co. again.

Watch NFL Minnesota Vikings vs Pittsburgh Steelers Thursday Night Football Free Online Live Streaming ,December 09, 2021.

Watch NFL Thursday Night Football Minnesota Vikings vs Pittsburgh Steelers 2021 NFL Week 14 online free live streaming high quality(HD) broadcast on THursday ,December 09 ,2021 at 8:20 p.m. ET. Neither the Pittsburgh Steelers nor the Minnesota Vikings have much time to dwell on either of their dramatic, down-to-the-wire games from last Sunday as they face one another on “Thursday Night Football” in hopes of keeping their respective playoff chances alive for one more week.

The Steelers (6-5-1) were able to hold off the first-place Ravens 20-19 after a would-be game-winning two-point conversion pass from Lamar Jackson went awry and off Mark Andrews’ fingertips in the game’s closing seconds. The win moves Pittsburgh above .500, giving false hope to a fanbase that should really know better than to believe in such fool’s gold.

Meanwhile, the Vikings have officially turned losing at the last second into an art form. At this point, it would be appropriate for every NFL stadium to start blaring Sarah McLachlan or The Smiths over the public address system every time the Vikings have the ball in the fourth quarter, just to set the mood for the inevitable incoming depression. On Sunday, Minnesota handed the Lions their first win of the season, 29-27, as Jared Goff found Amon-Ra St. Brown in the end zone as time expired on fourth down. The Detroit game was the most Minnesota loss of the Mike Zimmer era, which says so, so much.

Both the Steelers and Vikings are similar in many respects. They both have underperforming defenses, struggling rushing attacks, dynamic skill position players, veteran quarterbacks that can be terribly frustrating, and neither can actually beat the Detroit Lions. And both franchises are likely due for major shakeups come this offseason, especially if they fail to make the postseason. But before we get to February, we have to play Thursday night, as each of these squads tries to figure out who they want to be for the rest of the 2021 season.

Thursday Night Football: Pittsburgh (6-5-1) at Minnesota (5-7)
Kickoff: Thursday, Dec. 9 at 8:20 p.m. ET
      TV: FOX/NFL Network
      Spread: Vikings -3

      Three Things to Watch

      1. Pass rush vs. pass rush
One thing that both of these teams do well is get to opposing quarterbacks — they rank first (Steelers, 37) and second (Vikings, 36) in the NFL in sacks. Pittsburgh’s pass rush is essentially a one-man wrecking crew with linebacker T.J. Watt, the league’s leader in sacks (16), coming in strong off the edge. Last Sunday, it was a team effort as the Pittsburgh front seven accounted for seven sacks against Jackson and the Ravens offensive line. Watt leads the way with a career-high 3.5 sacks with defensive end Chris Wormley adding 2.5. The Steelers’ front line did a great job of containing Jackson in the pocket and didn’t let him get outside the tackle box to make plays with his legs. While Kirk Cousins is mobile (sort-of), I’d expect to see the Steelers blitz more often than their 25.3 percent season average on Thursday night to try and force Cousins into uncomfortable throws, which he is very likely to attempt.

The Vikings pass rush is much more of a group effort compared to that of the Steelers. Defensive end Danielle Hunter is the team leader with just six sacks and is one of 16 different Vikings to record at least a half of a sack this season. Overall, the Vikings actually do a better job of pestering quarterbacks compared to Pittsburgh, as they rank in the top five in hurries (68) and pressures (133), which is all the more impressive considering they are middle-of-the-pack in blitz rate. The Vikings’ defensive front is taking on a battered Pittsburgh offensive line and a largely immobile Ben Roethlisberger, who is among the most sacked quarterbacks this season who’s made at least 10 starts (25). Roethlisberger is also struggling against teams that get in his face, completing just 40 percent of his throws against pressure (23rd). He also leads the league in “dangerous throws” (37) and is fourth in interceptable passes (30).

Both defensive front lines should have plenty of opportunities to annoy their opposing quarterback and impact this game, even if they go about it in different ways.

Two of the NFL’s oldest franchises will meet this Sunday when the Chicago Bears welcome the Arizona Cardinals back to their original hometown. The NFC West-leading Cardinals (9-2) own the league’s best record and are fresh off of their bye week. As for the Bears (4-7), they’re looking for consecutive wins for the first time since Weeks 4 and 5. This will be the 92nd all-time meeting between these two original NFL franchises.

      Arizona (9-2) at Chicago (4-7)
Kickoff: Sunday, Dec. 5 at 1 p.m. ET
      TV: FOX
      Spread: Cardinals -7.5

      Three Things to Watch

      1. Who starts at quarterback?
Bears head coach Matt Nagy announced that Andy Dalton will start again as Justin Fields continues to recover from cracked ribs. Dalton has done a serviceable job in relief of Fields, completing 56.5 percent of his passes for 518 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception over his last two games. Dalton won’t have Marquise Goodwin (foot/ribs) to throw to and fellow wide receiver Allen Robinson (hamstring) is listed as doubtful, but Darnell Mooney and Cole Kmet should continue to serve as the top targets. Over the last two games, Mooney and Kmet have combined for 321 yards on 19 receptions. Moony also has a touchdown catch.

The Cardinals also have dealt with injuries to the most important position, but the hope is that Kyler Murray will be able to return from the ankle injury that’s cost him the past three games. Coming out of the bye, Murray is a game-time decision to play on Sunday but he seems to be headed in the right direction. If Murray can’t go, Colt McCoy, who has filled in admirably, will get another start. Arizona also may get wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who has missed three games with a hamstring injury, back too. He’s a game-time decision as well. Either way, both offenses have become plenty familiar with operating at less than full strength.

      1. Which defense will step up first?
Both teams have been a mixed bag on defense this season. Arizona ranks in the top five in the NFL in several categories including total defense (317.8 ypg, 5th), passing defense (204.0 ypg, 4th), and scoring defense (18.4 ppg, 4th). If there’s a weakness, it’s against the run where the Cardinals are just 17th (113.8 ypg). Individually, linebacker Markus Golden is tied for sixth in the league with 10.0 sacks, fellow backer Jordan Hicks leads the team with 82 tackles, and cornerback Byron Murphy Jr. has three interceptions. He’s questionable for Sunday with a foot injury.

As for Chicago, the defense has excelled when it comes to rushing the passer. The team’s 32 sacks are second and linebacker Robert Quinn, who is fourth with 11 of his own, was just named NFC Defensive Player of the Month for November. Quinn’s production has been essential with Khalil Mack dealing with a foot injury that eventually ended his season. But the rest of the picture for the Beras’ defense isn’t as pretty. They are 10th in yards allowed per game (334.4 ypg) but 21st against the run (118.5 ypg) and in the middle of the pack in scoring defense (23.1 ppg, 15th). The defense could be in for a particularly tough time on Sunday if Murray and Hopkins return for Arizona as well as the fact that linebacker Roquan Smith is questionable because of a hamstring injury. Smith is fourth in the league in tackles with 113 and is the anchor of Chicago’s D.

      Final Analysis
Both teams have quarterback concerns, but part of the reason Arizona has the NFL’s best record at 9-2 is that Colt McCoy has fared just fine in relief of Kyler Murray. The Cardinals could be getting Murray and Hopkins both back, which makes their offense even more dangerous. Chicago’s offense won’t be at full strength and while Dalton is a capable signal-caller in his own right, the Bears have had issues moving the ball and scoring points all season. Combine that with a defense that’s also short-handed and there are just too many obstacles for Chicago to overcome, even at home. Arizona becomes the first team with 10 wins by staying undefeated on the road.

      Prediction: Cardinals 24, Bears 17
