Both West Coast and Fremantle will enter Sunday’s western derby with severely depleted on-ball divisions, with the loss of Sean Darcy and Caleb Serong at the Dockers and absence of Tim Kelly at the Eagles the latest blows.
West Coast confirmed a dozen changes heading into the Optus Stadium clash, headlined by the return of Nic Naitanui, Josh Kennedy and Andrew Gaff, while the Dockers swung five of their own amid a remarkable derby build-up.

The Dockers will welcome back Matt Taberner for his first game of the season in a huge boost for their forward line, but the exits of Darcy (ankle) and Serong (knee) to compound the absence of Nat Fyfe and David Mundy will sting.
However, West Coast will field a similarly-depleted engine room, with Kelly failing to overcome a hamstring strain to join fellow clearance guns Luke Shuey, Elliot Yeo and Dom Sheed on the sidelines.
Shuey and Willie Rioli, Liam Duggan, Bailey Williams and Jack Williams have all been placed among the league’s COVID protocols, with Tom Barrass also still absent.
The Dockers dropped defensive duo Griffin Logue and Joel Hamling, with Bailey Banfield also out. Neil Erasmus will debut while Nathan O’Driscoll is set for his first full match after coming on as the sub last week.
